Properties: It is White  powder, it is insoluble in water and easy to soluble in ethanol, chloroform etc. The density is 1.28; boiling point is 250°C.

Use: It can be used as a bitter additive, a denaturant for alcohol, a soaker for paper, as well as an insecticide, plasticizer for cellulosic&synthetic resin. It also can be used as an additive for paint and children's toys, etc. It can prevent mice or children from biting or tasting the goods because of its extreme bitter taste.

In addition, sucrose octaacetate is used for preparation a repellant for birds and beasts. It can effectively repellant the birds and the beasts without causing pollution to an ambient environment, which is harmless.

It is used for preparation of cigarette filter paper capable to reduce ammonia content of cigarette main stream smoke and tobacco composite additive to improve the smoking quality of cigarettes.

It also can be used for the treatment of gonarthromeningitis traditional Chinese medicine preparation placebo, coronary heart disease prescription placebo and the treatment of cardiovascular disease drugs.

It is used for preparation of electrically conductive adhesive for LEDs、 composite material for ultrasonic cleaning machine, Polyaniline nanowires /Nanoparticle compound system and an oil-resistant low temperature-resistant cable material for automobiles.

Regulation (EU) 2022/1616：in Recycled Plastic FCMs （FCM NO.  : 309），SOA can be used as an additive for plastic materials、articles and recycled plastic food contact materials.
